Truth is a multi-faced concoction of a little of this some of that and a whole bunch more of this. When used in certain ways it is not helpful to tell the truth. If the cow has gotten out of the barn might as well just go shut the door because you don’t want the horses to follow.
I guess people are looking for the truth but not really in all scenario’s. It is ok to tell a little white lie but when does it become a huge deceitful lie. You can’t harness a lie yet we continue to try for the sake of courtesy. We get caught up in society’s expectation of how we are to carry ourselves losing all sight of reality. We lose sight of how to be true to ourselves.
I heard Matt speak on his Lean Start Up. I was impressed to find that his viewpoints on life were solid. I think he has the game of life beaten. He is not playing by the rules of man and has wittingly crafted his own rules which prove there is more than one way to skin a cat (no animals were hurt as a result of this blog).
Truth in some situations are harmful yet when not honest to someone you are condemning yourself to feel bad about it. What a wicked little two-edged sword truth is. We can’t live with it in some cases and can’t live without it in others. If I had to pick one over the other I would say truth in a compassionate way is better than a lie. If delivered properly it is better than ten lies to make someone feel better.
